A Message from SKTCF

Dear Friends and Supporters:

This has been a very productive and exciting year for the Sean Kimerling Testicular Cancer Foundation. Please take a few minutes to read below and look back at the year that was. More importantly - our work would not be possible without the support of the incredible NYC tribune media station PIX11, as well as your support, our dear friends and sponsors. Thank you for your support as we fight the most common cancer in young men. We appreciate your commitment to our vision - please continue to support us as we look forward to a time where no man dies from TC.

The Launch of A New Website (

It has all the “ballsy news” you could want in one place. Humorous and irreverent, it seeks to engage young people most in need of information about Testicular Cancer, reduce the stigma associated with balls and testicular cancer and present a more subtle but very effective message to the millions of young men who need to hear it. There have been over 100,000 visits to this site over the 5 months it has been ‘live.’ We expect to grow exponentially during 2016 and will continue to bring our vital educational messages about TC to the millions of young men who need to hear it. Special thanks to Board Members Dan Abrams and Rob Seaver who made this happen and to our editor Thor Jensen.

The Fabulously Successful 3rd Annual Running of the Balls

5k/10k Race on Roosevelt Island, Saturday, June 20th of Father’s Day weekend. Over 900 folks registered; over 750 completed and they lined up to take pictures with “Mr. Check Em'.” Special thanks to board member Joe Bencivenga for the success of this race and to board member and TC survivor Todd Rosenbluth whose Team Todd raised over $8000 and to our sponsors: Bencivenga and Associates, Public Accountants; Street-Works Studio, Jack Rabbit/NYC Runs, the Kimerling Family and the Meatball Shop. To support the cause, The Meatball Shop donated proceeds of their ‘Naked Meatballs’ to those runners and friends who ordered them on race day.  The Runners and their friends had a great time and were educated about the importance of early detection and cure of testicular cancer. Over $13,000 was raised from our sponsors and running teams. More importantly, we reached just the right demographic, young men 15-40 who are most at risk, their friends and their families.

PIX11/SKTCF 12th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament Once Again an Unqualified Success!

On Monday, August 3, 2015, sports legends, television and radio personalities, corporations and individuals participated in the PIX11/SKTCF 12th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament and Dinner at Scarsdale Golf Club. Great thanks to Tribune Media/Pix 11 for their unwavering support over the years and to the many sponsors and participants who enjoyed a wonderful day of golf and a special auction dinner. SKTCF was especially pleased to have the lovely Sukanya Krishnan MC the event. (do we have a picture of her?) Over $144,000 was raised to help continue our mission to raise Awareness, provide Answers and promote Action in the fight against Testicular Cancer while honoring NY Yankees outfielder Roy White.

All of the above is, of course, to promote our mission of raising awareness about testicular cancer for early treatment and cure. In doing that, we are fulfilling Sean’s wish to educate young men about testicular cancer.
