SKTCF 3rd Annual Running of the Balls was a huge success with 984 runners registered and over 800 runners completing either the 5k or 10k run to support the cause - early detection and cure of testicular cancer. It was a beautiful day for the Run on the Saturday of Father's Day Weekend, June 20th on Roosevelt Island. Mr. Check'm was very popular as runners lined up to take pictures with him and post on twitter and other social media.
SKTCF raised over $13,000 from our sponsors and running teams. We thank TC survivor Todd Rosenbluth who raised over $8000 for the foundation and the other great running teams. We also thank our sponsors: Bencivenga and Associates, Public Accountants; Street-Works Studio; the Kimerling Family and Way of Life Athletics Inc.
Importantly, we reached just the right demographic, young men 15-40 who are most at risk, their friends and their families.
Every hour one man in the U.S. is diagnosed with testicular cancer (TC) and close to 400 die each year from this disease which is 99% curable when found and treated at its earliest stages.
Look for our 4th Annual Run around Father's Day Weekend of 2016 (SKTCF website or NYCRuns) and join us to have fun, run and spread the word about TC. A big congrats to our award recipients!
